My life is a series of memorable moments strung together in which my faith, family and friends are at the core. They have influenced the actions and responsibilities which I have taken, in the course of my life. My family has deposited wisdom and support through all my endeavors to become the most successful person I can. My father Jay Young is an employee at Maxon a Honeywell Company in the R&D Technical Center and is currently pursuing his associate’s degree in Industrial Technology. My mother Anna Young is an employee at the Muncie BMV. My 9 yr. old sister Haley Young attends 4th grade in the Muncie Community Schools ELP program at EWA. My parents and sister have been the main source of guidance in my life.
Interest and Hobbies:
I am not one to be content with only one interest or hobby. For instance; in the span of one day, I may attend a FCA meeting, teach my choreography to fellow students, attend wrestling practice as a manager, spend time with my sister after completing hours of homework, set out to off-season volleyball practice, and then head back home to plan for the next day. I am passionate about singing and dancing, as well as using it as a source of artistic expression of faith; which I plan to use in pursuing my future. My wide range of interest and hobbies helps assure that I am a well-rounded fortunate individual.
Achievements and Awards:
I maintained a 4.0 all during elementary and was awarded with the Presidential Award for Educational Excellence. I was one of two in my elementary school that received the Excellent Student Award from the Kiwanis Club. I continued to maintain honor roll grades in middle school. I was rewarded with the Presidential Award for Educational Excellence, for a second time. I am a ...

Goals and Plans:
In my future I have expectations to achieve excellence. After this school year I plan to get a summer job. This will help me prepare myself for my future. I plan to attend a private college in Indiana after I graduate high school. I am aspiring to major in communications. With a degree in communications there would be many opportunities for me to get hired into a job I would love. I plan to work for a business that reaches out to the community. I would love to become a missionary for a church. One of my biggest goals is to start my own party planning business, this business would be faith based. I have had this dream for a while with the understanding of hard work and dedication it takes to start my own business.
I have multiple dreams for my future. I hope to enter a superior college that is not too expensive or far away from my home, like Caltech, Stanford, or Berkley. I would like to graduate from college with a master’s degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in biology.
Although I am a fairly well-rounded student outside of school, I focus on the passions I am adept at: art and music. Creativity and thinking outside the box are skills that I have possessed and have developed over the years. It gives me great joy when I use my artistic and musical talents for the benefit of others, such as playing the piano and violin at a dinner honoring senior citizens or drawing pictures for young children at a Bible camp. Their smiles in appreciation of my service are priceless. My drive for excellence in my passions show that I give one hundred percent in all that I
When I was younger my grandfather would take me to a kitchen where I would help put together bags of food and other necessities for homeless people in the area. My grandmother worked at a nursing home so I would come up and entertain the people who didn’t get many visitors, and assist them to the best of my abilities. Helping those people every other week was so much fun, and I have always just loved helping out people in any way possible. I even helped from home, by helping my mom with bake sales that the profit made would go to various charities. I am not in StuCo, but I usually help them pack food for families in need through “Got Your
In 2014 Christmas Rock the Block where we are able to hand out Christmas presents for the kids and food with so many getting a ham or turkey. My family and I were at the beverage truck handing out the drinks as people came up wanting them. I was able to talk to the people and find out if they have any prayer needs. Some of them that want to be prayed for, I got to take time out and pray with the
My hope is that I will be able to establish a profitable home business so I can make donations to some of my favorite charities and help those in need.
I have a passion for each of the activities that I have listed. However, if I could only continue with one of the activities it would be playing violin in my school orchestra. This is because music allows me to be creative in an otherwise pragmatic world. By playing music, I can create something new and beautiful through my own ability. Additionally, I enjoy continuously improving my instrumental skills. This is because the satisfaction of perfecting a piece of music after practicing and refining my playing is matched by none of my other activities. For this reason, I would continue to participate in the orchestra. (102)
I am a juggling, crocheting, martial arts marathoner. I am uniquely me. I say this because, throughout my life, I have taken no small amount of pleasure in picking up random hobbies, activities and skills. For instance, when I was young, I taught myself to juggle for no specific reason. It's the thrill of the challenge, that's what drives me. A year later, sparked by an interest in knots, I taught myself to crochet. Again, for no reason other than I saw a challenge and never stopped until I achieved my objective. At one point, I became fascinated with the game of chess. I taught myself to play and have enjoyed the game ever since. A few years ago, I spotted a friend with the Rubik's cube. What a challenging puzzle! Within a month, I had taught
My family is blessed with many things most of these people I served will never have. We have the luxury of going to Meijer on a weekly basis and buying everything we need and want. I, along with most people, take these things for granted until you attend an event like this. When I choose this event, I was thinking it would be rewarding to serve these people, especially around the holidays. I have volunteered for a few other organizations similar to this including Catholic Charities, breakfasts sponsored by Churches, and Kids Food Basket. I realized that all of these organizations provide food to families in need. At Catholic Charities we made baskets for Thanksgiving Dinner. I never met the people or saw them receive their baskets which is what differentiates this from the food truck. At the food truck, I was able to see the people directly. Of course, at the breakfasts I was able to see the people directly as well. I walked around pouring drinks for all the people. Kids Food Basket is similar to the Catholic Charities, in the sense that I did not see the Kids directly. I packaged the dinners that would be handed out to Kids in need the next day day at school in our own Muskegon
Many people have visions of what there life will be when they are older. Some wish to become fire fighters, or doctors. I on the other hand would love to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Traveling and writing will become a huge part of my life in the later years but for now I would just like to focus on helping others. Both Belding High School, and Grand Rapids Community College will play a huge role in my success. Family, friends, and everyone I love will always be there to support me. With their help I plan on achieving something great.
As for my future, I hope to become a teacher that is respected and liked. I want to learn from my mistakes and continue to grow and learn. Right now, I do not see myself as going on to receive a masters or anything, but that could always change. The future is hard to decide on but I do know that I want to be a teacher and make a difference in at least one persons life.
Practically every person has his or her own hobby; whether it‘s a sport, collecting certain items, or something one takes their time practicing. Personally, I never thought I ever had a hobby. As a matter of fact I wasn’t even sure what a hobby actually was. Then I got to thinking and I finally realized that my hobby was dancing. Yes, I know that to some people dancing is not considered a true hobby; but the way I see it, if I enjoy dancing and spend my precious time doing it, then I have every right to consider it as my special hobby.
I know that it will be tough for me to get everything that I want, but I will do the best I can to make it all happen. I hope to be working in an elementary setting in my professional career. I want to teach in the Lampeter Strasburg school district, which is the district that I went to school in. I would prefer to work with second or third graders mainly because those are the years of elementary school that I remember the most. After working a couple of years in that setting, I would like to go back to school and attain my masters degree in Administration. With this, I would like to become a principle of the school I work at. I also would want to be the head coach of the high school football team at Lampeter Strasburg, which would allow me to make an impact on different ages of students in areas other than the classroom. I know that this would be a lot of work, but I would love every minute of it. I want to retire at age 65 and devote the rest of my time to my family and school district that helped me attain all of my goals and
I also worked with my brothers in construction, mainly helping them to put up walls, surface preparation, and painting. Moreover, in December, my dad and I go to Michoacán, Mexico every year to work in my grandpas’ ranch, knowing that it’s time to harvest beans, corn and to collect grass and hay for the animals. At the end of the month, we mark the avocado trees that need harvesting the following month. Apart from working within the family, I also help out the church community by volunteering to help sell at special events but if a subgroup needs help I sometimes help them out too. Moreover, during high school, I would read and act out stories for children during a book festival for Mexican culture.
Everyone has plans. Weather they want to become a scientist and discover new and amazing things, or become a star basketball player and be the highest paid player in the league. I have plans for the future, just like everyone else, and I will do whatever it takes to achieve it. When I entered my middle school years of school, I had dreamed of being a Teacher’s Assistant, something I had wanted to be since I was a child and went to Head Start. Now, here I am in my senior year in high school wanting to do the same job I have dreamed about. Now I come to a time in my life where I chose what to do with my future, chose what will make me happy. My future plan consists of working at Head Start and from this career field, I will have much satisfaction.
I also had the privilege of helping with the Meals on Wheels non profit organization. My grandfather used to be a Meals on Wheels recipient and he would share with me how he enjoyed looking forward to their company and a hot meal daily. I volunteered because I wanted to give back and help someone else’s loved one in the same way. It was very rewarding delivering hot meals to people who didn’t have the means of getting one as well as being there for them to talk to. Overall, it was a very humbling experience, it made me realize just how blessed I am and how much I take for granted daily.
