What is conflict? It is a serious disagreement or argument. Having a positive attitude is the best response to conflict, especially in time of war. For example is Winston Churchill's response to the Germans acts of aggression. Churchill gave a speech about how Britain will win the war in a positive way. Anne Frank is another great way of responding to conflict when she hid from the Nazis. She hid with her family and another in the attic of an apartment of Otto Frank’s business, and had a very optimistic view of hiding in the attic by making paintings to make the place more cheerful. To begin, Winston Churchill’s speech about the aggressive Germans is a positive, persuasive speech about the British winning the war. He says, “You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs - Victory in spite of all terrors - Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.” (Churchill par. 11) …show more content…

“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” Anne Frank is a great example of this. In her diary she explained what it was like in hiding from the Nazis in World War II. Anne Frank got a brush and a pot of glue from her father, she plastered the walls with paintings to make the attic more cheerful. Her attitude while in hiding is very positive, even if they lived in fear everyday for two years. “Up to now our bedroom, with its blank walls, was very bare. Thanks to Father - who brought my entire postcard and movie-star collection here beforehand - and to a brush and a pot of glue, I was able to plaster the wall with pictures.” (Frank par. 19) She was scared that the neighbors would hear them when they would listen to the radio, but she kept a positive way of thinking about her and her family’s safety, and cared about the van Daan's
