Cussing has always been one of the most heated and debated topics in todays society. Historically cultures have attempted to avoid curse words; blurring them out on tv, making songs with cuss words considered explicit, and doing much more to avoid them. However, so many questions still remain about cursing such as, what words are appropriate to say, and what actually makes something a cuss word. Because of the abundance of questions that remain un answered on this topic, society has become divided today on this vary matter. Many people often use curse words in their everyday language, while others strongly stay away from using them. Whether you do or don't cuss simply depends on your reasoning and logic behind the idea. To begin let's take a look at why people believe that cussing is wrong. The first main reason for this belief is because cussing is seen in society as morally wrong. First off we are taught from a young age that we should not bring others down which is the intent of curse words. Society puts a lot of focus to make sure that a child in schooling does not become a bully. Any time someone harms someone else physically it is a crime and punishment will be served with it. First off in today's society we consider cussing unnecessary, and so we blur it out. However, words like wow or golly gee do not provide any constructive ideas and yet they are deemed ok. Secondly many would say that cussing is not actually offensive. The origins of cuss words have become so lost today that now all we have is the negative connotation. Words like kill though carry a lot of negative connotation and yet we consider it completely ok.
