Cheating has been a problem in the education system for as long as the education system has existed. Many believe that cheating is wrong as stated by the famous playwright Sophocles “I would prefer even to fall with honor then to win by cheating ” by reading this we can infer that he believes that people should accept their defeat with pride than to feel good about themselves with work that isn’t theirs some people may say that cheating isn’t bad if it’s beneficial to you and doesn’t harm anyone else however the problem with that is that cheating is bad no matter which way you look at it and how you try justifying yourself. When you cheat you don’t learn anything from the work that is assigned and it doesn’t show what you’re learning which can be bad for teachers when they are trying to figure out where your strengths and weaknesses lie. When an assignment is given its to further expand your knowledge in the subject bit if you cheat you deprive yourself from that aspect of your education which may lead you to not benefit and learn anything from it which is bad for you and puts an unnecessary amounts of stress in your life. When in the education system a big part of it is not only getting good grades but also learning basic morals. When someone cheats it makes them a dishonest person because they’re basically lying about their abilities in doing work. This also applies to real life situations like relationships when somebody cheats on their significant other they lie about their honesty. Another example is in sports when athletes calls a foul on another knowing well that they are not doing anything bad or taking drugs before a game to make their skills better. It shows that they’re dishonest and they don’t develop good habits and overtime like in relationships and in sports it can negatively impact you. In school this can take a toll on the student and make them perform badly in the long run not only in school but in life.
