Only Children Weep To Kill a Mockingbird a world famous story written by Harper Lee, tells a story about two children that grew up in a small southern town called Maycomb, Alabama, in the 1930s. Two of the main characters Scout and her older brother Jem learn about how the world actually works. They learn that not everything is fair and that there is nothing you can do to change it. And they learn that the older you get, you start to see the world as a hateful and evil place. And sometimes the innocent person is the one that has to pay for the wrongdoings of others. But he did not have one thing; the open mind of any of the jury members all they could see was a black man and not the man he really was. The verdict of the trail was that Tom was found guilty. The jury members had not cared that they just convicted an innocent man. What is really sad in this story, but also in life is that adults usually do not see people for who they really are; sometimes they only see what is skin deep. For example adults usually associate one group or groups of people to what a few people from that group had done. And it usually someone that had done something bad. And they just assume that everyone of that race or religious group is like the few that might not have made some of the best decisions. However, in life like and the book children are usually the ones to not be unfair to anyone just because they do not like them. They can be more sympathetic and less unjust than adults. But a good example of this is when the jury finds Tom is guilty. Jem told his father he did not understand why the verdict was guilty; when they had all the evidence they need to prove Tom innocents.
