One book that I have really enjoyed that we have read recently was The Lightning Thief. First off, it had a great story line. It included Greek Gods that really added an element of surprise throughout the story. Secondly, the book also had many interesting characters. These included people such as the following: Grover, Percy, Annabeth, and Luke. Lastly, The Lightning Thief had ultimate points in the novel that established its identity. In thesis, this Rick Riordan book was extraordinary because of its exceptional storyline, intriguing characters, and its well-established plot.
First off, the book starts out with Percy Jackson, who is a troubled teenager who attends Yancy Academy. It does not take him long to realize that he is in trouble, when his supposed math teacher, Mrs. Dodds, attacks him. Throughout the first few chapters, Percy figures out his a demi-god and is relocated to Camp Half-Blood. After staying here for a few weeks, he is sent on a life changing quest. The most important, in my opinion, was Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. He is the main man responsible for saving the entire, vast world. The second character was Annabeth, daughter of Athena. Due to this relationship, Annabeth is extremely wise and is always knowledgeable when it comes to anything dealing with strategy. The third vital character, a satyr, is Grover. He was Percy’s “mentor and overseer”, as he helped protect Percy from all of Hades’ threatening schemes. Fourth, another important character was Luke. He was the son of Hermes, the messenger to the gods. He is probably the main antagonist in the story, as he is who stole the lightning bolt and caused the world to almost end.
