First we will discuss summer driving. Driving in the summer is really just driving, nothing more, and nothing less. Cars do really well in warm conditions, they start good and the roads are warm for great traction. Maybe this would be your ideal school, but, when would you get to have some time to go to summer camp, or get a summer job, or play a sport with games during the day? Schools should have a traditional school year schedule instead of a year round schedule because there isn’t a significant difference between the students’ performance, and year round schedules make planning family vacations hard, make the teachers’ job more difficult, and are more expensive. Also, having a summer break allows kids to participate in activities that they would not be able to do on a year round schedule due to the shorter breaks.
The differences between driving in the winter and driving in the summer are greater than the similarities. Driving in the heat may be manageable while driving a car that has a functioning AC, but if your AC doesn’t work you’ll be uncomfortable the whole ride. As a student of East Texas Baptist University living in centennial residence hall is difficult. I having to ask people to use their kitchen just to make a simple thing like waffles. I even want at least peace and quiet without my roommates being loud with visitors. Living in centennial or any of the other dorms is not the same as being able to live on your own where you have time to yourself. After my freshman year I was trying to live off campus because these dorms are really expensive. At East Texas Baptist University you have to be 21 to live off campus unless living with a parent. I believe that since you are able to do other things at the age of 18 you should be able to live off campus on your own.
