Was the Atomic Bomb Justified? There is a huge debate on whether or not dropping the Atomic Bomb on Japan was the right thing to do. There are several points that can make the case for both sides. Here is why the dropping the Atomic Bomb was the correct thing to do at the time. Using the Atomic Bomb ended the war, saved lives, and showed other countries that the United States had power. Using the Atomic Bomb ended the war. It was no secret that Japan was going to continue to fight until they were all dead, the Americans just needed to make it clear that they were already finished with the war. After the two bombs were dropped the United States was even so generous that they weren’t going to make Japan have an unconditional surrender. The United States let Japan keep their emperor Hirohito. The U.S. also made a constitution for Japan that said that granted full freedom for their citizens. 300,000 people were killed in the bombing, either immediately or due to radiation. But these numbers would have been much higher if the Atomic Bomb wouldn’t have been used. The war could have gone on longer and we would have continued fire raid which killed over 100,000 people and image in that would have continued there could have been 300,000 people killed from fire raids instead of the Atomic Bomb. Also, they would have been putting American lives in danger by not putting an end to the war with the bomb. Americans would have had to do land missions and that would have killed thousands. As well as we would have had to have Russia come help and that would have put them in danger and killed thousands of Russians. Yet we wanted to be able to do this without
