Sal hasn’t officially found out why her mother has left and she wants to try to bring her back on her mother’s birthday, while with Hammond and Nedry they were both overly confident and only cared about themselves. However, in the end, they all ended out with an unfortunate turn of events. In the beginning of the Walk Two Moons, Sal’s mother Sugar embarks to Idaho, but didn’t tell Sal or her father that she would be gone for so long. The first few days that Sugar is gone, she is sending postcards to Sal about all the places she has visited on her way to Idaho; however, all of a sudden the cards stop coming. He had a so called “brilliant” plan to steal embryos from Hammond’s new park for the Biosyn Company. Nedry started this plan due to financial troubles and the low pay from his job with Hammond. Therefore, when Hammond invited him to make some modifications on the park he openly accepted the position. At Nedry’s meeting with Dodgson, he says, “Hell no Dr. Dodgson. I want to see the damn money” (Crichton). From this evidence, someone can recognize that Nedry is a backstabber and only cares about his own needs. When Nedry arrived at the park, he was told to by Hammond and Arnold to fix all the bugs that were occurring in the softwares. This just made Nedry’s task even easier due to the fact that he now had full access to the security which is required to be shut off during his scandalous plan. When it was time for Dodgson's boat to arrive, Nedry made an excuse to go to the bathroom, but actually shut of all the power as a diversion to steal the embryos from the fertilization lab. In the book it explains, “Nedry quickly took two of each, slipping them into the shaving cream can” (Crichton). Due to this act of selfishness, Nedry didn’t just steal the embryos, he also shut off the power throwing the park into chaos. The book, “The House of the Scorpion” by Nancy Farmer is a 3 time award winner and a fantastic novel in the genre of utopia and dystopia. Matt is a clone saved from the burden of having a blunted intelligence. Evidence from the book supports this was a faulty move. The novel also says why El Patron blunts their intelligence; it's fully out of greed. Overwhelmingly, it seems that these things played a big part in the outcome of the novel, and why Matt is such a interesting, dimensional character in the book.
One of the characters who was a major influence in Ricky’s life is his mother. She is a very strong willed and opinionated person. As Rivera points out at the beginning of the novel “I am still amazed that I really don’t know who this woman is. None of us do. My brothers and sisters have conflicting fictions of where Chero is from, but we agree that if we could just pinpoint an exact geographical moment of being, we could start to figure out mother out.” (3) The author reflects on his respect for his mother when he writes about her determination, her purpose, her willingness to confront bosses, teachers, neighbors and husbands even as he states “to this day I still wonder who this woman is.” (10 )

Abuse is a subject that should be considered important. There are about 960,000 abuse incidents reported annually. 85% of them are reported by women. The resting 15% are reported by men. In Fried Green Tomatoes, abuse is a recurring part of the book, Fannie Flagg does an admirable job in describing in detail the abuse incidents that happen throughout the book. Ruth is a character that receives abuse from her husband, she believes she deserves everything he does to her, even push her down the stairs. She finally takes the decision to escape from the abusive relationship she is in when her near death mother advices her to. Along the way characters develop some effects caused by abuse. People who suffer from abuse may develop fear, low self-esteem, or strength.

There is no doubt that Miss. Strangeworth is not an easy person to deal with, let alone live with, and although her character is fictional, there are many people with the same personality. We can tell quite easily that she is a very meticulous woman, with a lot of perfectionist tendencies, a few of which are to nitpick people’s lives and make sure that even the most minute detail is up to her standards. I know of someone with these attributes and as difficult as they are to deal with, with their list of requirements to be met and their eagle-eye for detail in even the smallest things, they mean the best, and are always trying to help, despite the possible repercussions.
The first aspect of Willy's character that affected his failure was his pride. Willy's pride caused him to in many situations make very poor and unethical decisions, that affected both himself and his family. An example of this is through the conversation between Willy and Charley “CHARLEY: ‘You want a job?’ WILLY: ‘I got a job, I told you that. There are many people that can’t have what you do. When you sit there and think about how poor you are and how much you don’t have you should really be thinking of the people that have even less. Linda Sue Parks was one of the people that did and she wrote a book called A Long Walk to Water which is a true story. In the novel there is a young boy named Salva Dut. Salva Dut was an 11 year old boy who was separated from his family because of a school shooting. This happened in Sudan which is now South Sudan because of war. In hopes that he finds his family again he will walk and walk everyday. Salva also faces many challenging things while he’s walking such as finding food and water, avoiding gunmen, and wild animals. For example if you were raised in a home of poverty or drug abuse you are use too that lifestyle when you're young. It wouldn't be till your older you would realize it is not a normal way of life. It shapes our life. In the novel the Glass Castle Jeanette is a perfect example of how your perspective changes throughout life as you experience life in addition to maturing.
