I believe that we should pay for volcano monitoring. It could potentially save lives, it might even save yours. Volcano monitoring can be revolutionized into possibly a non-funded project. If volcanoes were monitored, then casualties and deaths would be minimized. This essay will explain just that. Volcano monitoring can save lives. This can be made possible via an active warning system to potential eruptions. With this we can give local residents an early warning to vacate the area. This non-funded project could easily be made possible in the future with funding right now. This could be turned into an early warning system for earthquakes and other natural disasters. All this is not impossible, actually, it is just waiting for the right person. For when this happens, the life expectancy for humans could skyrocket. Casualties and deaths (mostly deaths) would decrease dramatically. This is actually true since volcanoes give off rising heat temperatures and pressure build up. All we need to do is measure these things and then we will instantly have a way to save lives. Volcano monitoring can and will save lives. With all of the previous evidence from the text, I will have to argue for spending tax dollars for volcano monitoring. After all, the more people alive, the more tax money comes in. The main reason that we should spend money for volcano monitoring is not for the money, but for the people. It is the people’s lives we are saving, the people that we are debating about.
