Violent protesting is the act of gathering large amounts of individuals to destroy property, hurt bystanders, set fires, and on rare occasions, kill people, to peer pressure the government into changing certain laws. There are many reasons why people protest at all. For example, to persuade the government to make or change laws, or show their opinion on controversial topics, in hopes to gain supporters, or to inform their public area on worldwide problems, also in hopes to gain supporters. There are two ways to go with protesting, violent and peaceful protesting. Peaceful protesting is gathering large groups of people not to wreak havoc on cities and hurt people, but to either just simply walk down streets or to break laws. For example,
