Towing: A Short Story

This is just the family I was raised into. The thrill of getting that initial phone call that really gets your adrenaline pumping. Its called Towing. It was a frigid snowy day when all of a sudden the phone went off the hook! It was the state police! As the operator Sally said we have an emergency! Sally explained that there was a man stuck under a plow truck at the 230 mile marker. As soon as my mom got off the phone she screamed for my dad, and said, “Fire up the truck and get out to the 230 now! There is a man stuck under a truck!” As my dad ran out to the barn to fire up the truck he called over “Hey, you coming?,” looking directly at me “Yes of course,” I called back, running into the garage to find my gloves. I scurried out to the truck when all of a sudden I trip where the gravel meets pavement. I surely couldn't let that bother me, I mean there is a man stuck under a truck. I got into the truck with blood on my hands and we took off. I could have sworn that my dad was doing at least 80 in a 180,000 pound rotator! I happened to look over to see the speedometer maxed out at 86 miles per hour! While officer haul he was running over to check on the driver, he quickly dispatched out another unit who was just 5 minutes away, to cover the crash. The officer rapidly showed up on scene to find out what was going on! Officer Hale said there was no driver. They both searched to find the missing driver!
