Globalization is omnipresent. Its influence, power, and reputation are growing as the phenomenon is not really new. The term refers to development of interdependence links between economic activities and political systems across the world. More broadly, it refers to the processes that unite people everywhere together, thereby producing worldwide independence and featuring the rapid and large scale movement of persons, things, and ideas across sovereign borders. Benjamin Barber considers Globalization as retribalization; a war of tribe against tribe, people against people, a jihad against interdependence, social cooperation , and civil mutuality, and economic integration or pressing nation into one homogenous global network. From this perspective, globalization has changed the world in one way or another even thought some people react negatively to it as jihad is on the rise worldwide including the United States where its citizen pay particular attention to it. Globalization can produce peace? Globalization unites people from North to South and from East to West. In doing so, Benjamin Barber concludes that MacWorld or Globalization of politics has four principles including the market imperative, the resources imperative, the information technology imperative, and the ecological imperative. First, the spread of communication technologies has impacted the world as its growing influence is confirmed by the rapid application of the latest scientific advances to products and processes. Barber argues that the scientific progress has deeply influenced the development of mass communication that requires the share of information between the nations. Second, people in the United States see “Jihad “as the possible factor of violence.In fact, many think that “Jihad” can lead to violence because of the perception that smaller States (Muslim) have to fight in order to remain culturally independent of bigger and developing States that impose norms. Also, people in the United States believe that “Jihad” as an extreme nationalism, may bring or enhance terrorism and may contribute to the destruction of traditional values and morals. Globalization is a complex notion .It has as many positive aspects as negative impact. The debate over globalization is continuous as it benefits some parts of the world and detrimental to others.
