Writing from Sources The United States bidding to host a future Olympic games may be a bad idea. The U.S is already in debt to other countries due to them putting most of the government money towards military supplies. The choice of hosting the Olympics can only put the U.S further into debt. The olympics may give the U.S an increase in population but the more people we have the more housing we have to produce to support our large population. If the United States were to host the Olympics they would have to worry about the impact on the economy and how it's going to affect the people. The high costs are bound to make hosting the Olympics a bad deal in the short-run(Text 3). The U.S losing more money only makes the economy worse than it already is. Olympic tourists replace normal tourist who want to stay away to avoid the congestion and greater expense during the games(Text 3). Some think that the population increases during the Olympics but the tourist only replace those who already live in the hosting area. Some of the indirect jobs provided will be in services and especially those related to tourist and visitors(Text 2). The more jobs the games produce the more people won't be unemployed. The games will also increase the awareness of the region as a travel/tourism destination(Text 2). The increase of the awareness of the region will increase tourism and people who want a vacation spot. An increased knowledge of concerning the potential for investment and commercial activity in the region(Text 2). People investing on things in the U.S would help to improve the economy.
