Imperialism had one of the greatest influences on how the United States grew to be. It had set way for global modernization, a bigger wealth economically with trade and improved industrialization for all Americans. Without the belief of Imperialism around, there would have been a possibility we wouldn’t have had the chance to grow stronger. Imperialism is better for the United States as a whole for it benefited us way more than Isolationism had. Isolationism has some pros that Imperialism doesn’t have. For example, Isolationism allows the nation to work on their own problems and prevent their civilians from entering conflicts that would weaken their economy. There’s bad aspects with political views that aren’t usually agreeable because while it seems decent to your nation, it holds a different stance in everywhere else. Also it leads to discrimination between countries because there aren’t enough people to be exposed to a different culture. In the end, without imperialism, we wouldn’t have the chance to have any goods; there would even be exploitation between residents who don’t approve of the superpower countries actions. With that comes extra money being wasted because the need of defensive forces to defend themselves from others would be required. Although it’s seen as unnecessary to keep on fighting with the colonies just so they could own them, they still need to spend cash on importing goods from them when they could just make technology. Using British power as a model, Mahan among other American politicians used it to apply to U.S. foreign policy in order to expand their image just like them. If they weren’t able to absorb any sort of economic wealth, it’ll be possible for them to continue out of the states for just as the same success they wanted and being part of the naval forces for trading would give a huge opportunity for the United States. As for Henry Cabot Lodge, as many Americans believed making the United States imperialized, he managed to enjoy the idea as well. He supported the fact of being military-based prepared in case there’s an outbreak in war to protect all the citizens of the nation. Lodge fought for theses measures to become a stronger imperial power and it proved to be very important as the United States experienced growth in naval power just like what Mahan also argued
