prone to have an attack if one of the family member once had it. The onset of panic disorder is usually around the teen age and early adulthood. At this age many major life changing events take place physically and socially. Because of these stressors the mind is susceptible to contract panic disorders. Other studies show that women are more liable to panic disorder than men (NIMH, 2014). If not timely treated panic disorder will disable the person doing regular activities in fear of having an attack. Panic disorders are highly treatable if the person seeks help from professionals. A common panic disorder is agoraphobia, a fear of public places. The people with agoraphobia are not necessarily afraid of places themselves but, the fear that they might have an attack in a public place or around people who might not be able to help them. Some will stay indoors for years because of this condition. High rising and narrow bridges and rollercoasters make people unease and tend avoid them, even though many control their fears and go about their daily routines. The most common and widespread form of anxiety disorders are phobic disorders. The DSM-5 describes phobias as characterized by, “marked, persistent and excessive fear and avoidance of specific objects, activities and/or situation” (Schacter, GIlbert, Wegner, & Nock, 2015). Many people with phobic disorders often realize that their reaction to a perceive threat is exaggerated and irrational but, “cannot prevent it from interfering with their everyday life (Schacter, GIlbert, Wegner, & Nock, 2015). Most phobias seem to rise unexpectedly in early childhood and adolescence period. Other modern techniques such as deep brain stimulation can be employed for unresponsive patients; however, they are still being researched on. In conclusion family and friends an import role in preventing and curing of anxiety disorders. Looking for flags such the spent by a person alone, and second guessing their judgement helps in fighting psychological disorders. Showing support for one-another and forming beneficial social groups helps as a preventive measure, because humans are socially predisposed. The symptoms of anxiety disorders get worse if the individual is condemned or deem weak. Joining these people in understanding is the first step to the eradication of anxiety disorders. Recognizing and awarding the willingness to change and improvements no matter how small gives encouragement for successful treatment. Together we can fight anxiety disorders.
