Crucible Romantic Hero
In the The Crucible by Arthur Miller, there is a character named John Proctor he’s a farmer and has a wife and two boys. Proctor is a well developed character and is a very important aspect His actions have made him a American Romantic Hero in the story. He died for what he felt was best for his actions and family.
John doesn’t like lying which made it hard for himself to decide either to lie or to live. Proctor choose his life and feels strongly that he made a good decision. His courage is shown in this quote (Miller 1232) “Show honor now, show a stony heart and sink them with it!”Everyone knows he was innocent and they were trying to make him lie. This is shown when Hale was yelling at John Proctor (Miller 1232)
