Many things come to mind when describing the essence of America.That would be its energy and innovation, the various liberties that Americans enjoy, and the diversity and racial and ethnic mixes of it’s people. But perhaps the primary thing to the essence of America has been the concept of the American Dream. Ultimately it is just the belief that anyone, regardless of where they are born, what class they were born into, political views, sex orientation, or religion can still attain their own version of success in a society, and be treated equally. It is about moving forward with confidence towards the challenges that lie ahead, with the belief that you will ultimately be navigated successfully on the correct path. Having hope helps you believe that everything will be alright in the future, and that you will make it, giving you the confidence that you need to achieve your goal. Optimism also allows you to always be positive, facing your obstacles head on, and always trying you hardest. Americans in general are an optimistic group, and the American Dreams reflects optimism.
