The first person I decided to write my paper about is a man by the name of Ted Bundy. Bundy was born in Burlington, Vermont on November 24th, 1946. Ted grew up with no father, and was raised in believing his grandparents were his actual parents and that his mom was his sister. Reasoning behind that was so his mom doesn’t get labeled as a bad mother because she was awful to Ted growing up. Bundy started with petty crime such as theft, and forged tickets for sporting events. Bundy was a very well-educated man studying phycology in college. He worked numerous of jobs, no job lasted over a few months for him. Ted had fallen in love with a girl in college but slowly had his heart broken after she considered him to childish and not ambitious, Bundy …show more content…

Why would someone be so embarrassed of their son that they have to disown them, maybe because he was born out of wedlock, to Eleanor Cowell, though she attempted to give him a good life by giving him to her parents? Also, with the theory of the X or Y model you could say that Bundy could have had an extra X chromosome since he was a person who lived a life of crime and had an uncontrollable urge to keep killing, but you can’t exactly confirm that the theory is right since it’s never been proven to be 100% true, hence the term to why its called a theory. Ted Bundy was a a distributed man who had such a promising future and could have had it all, but something messed this man up so badly that he had to go on a rampage of killings and find joy in it. A man who thought he was going to get away with it all got what he deserved.

Throughout all of American history there have been those who are well known for committing what are classified as deviant or criminal acts. Most of those who are well known by the public for their actions have committed deeds seen as extremely controversial such as being cult leaders, gang or mafia members, terrorists, rapists, or killers. The lists of members for each topic is numerous, however, there are a certain few that are more prominent than others. One criminal that stands out when speaking of killers in particular is Gary Ridgway, or as he is better known, the Green River Killer. Gary Ridgway is the nation’s most abundant serial killer, with the highest murder rate in America’s history (Gibson).

Michael and Derrick who had run away after the shooting confessed to police and named Andy as the shooter. According to the three boy’s testimony, they had only recently met and needed away to get some quick cash, so they developed a carjacking scheme and headed to Andy’s house to pick up 2 stolen handguns. Introduction: On the spectrum of criminal activity, serial killers are rather rare. Rarer still is a serial killer like Ted Bundy. Bundy confessed to killing 28 women in the 1970s in ghastly fashion and some believe he may have killed far more. It is hard to imagine what could cause any person to cross the mental boundary into such macabre behavior as Bundy perpetrated. Nevertheless, it is important to try to understand that behavior because only though such an understanding would society be able to identify and deter mass murderers in order to save lives.
This paper is talking about “The Serial Killer,” but focus on Gary Ridgway- “The Green River Serial Killer.” He earned his nickname because the first five victims that he killed were found in the Green River. He was one of the most famous serial killers in the United States. Ridgway raped, chocked, killer and discarded 48 women, including many teenagers as young as 15 years old (Silja J, 2003). In Ridgway’s mind, he even believed that he was helping the police out, as he admitted in one interview with investigators (Silja J, 2003).
Although, it is believed that Bundy’s abusive grandfather was truly his father. However, there is no complete evidence if Bundy’s grandfather raped his daughter, and inadvertently fathered Bundy. A few years later, Eleanor moved to Tacoma, Washington with Ted. At an early age, Ted started showing unusual interest in macabre.
Ted Bundy was born on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont. Bundy, is the son of Eleanor Louise Cowell and his father's identity was unknown. Bundy lived with his grandparents until the age of 3 in Philadelphia. All of Bundy's close friends and family were told that Bundy’s grandparents were actually his parents and that his mom was his older sister. They did this because having a baby outside of wedlock was considered bad during that time period.
Bundy’s murders are believed to have taken place in multiple states, including, Vermont, Idaho, Florida, Oregon, Utah, Colorado and Washington (Blanco, n.d.). Bundy was born an illegitimate child, meaning that his mother was single at the time of his birth. His mother, Eleanor Cowell’s parents were deeply religious and could not deal with the embarrassment that would come with an illegitimate child, so they raised Bundy as their adoptive child and Eleanor, Bundy’s mother, pretended to be Bundy’s sister. Bundy’s grandfather, who he thought of as his father, was believed to be a very abusive husband and father. Bundy’s grandmother, who he thought of as his mother, suffered from depression (Biography.com Editors, n.d.).
Due to his family having financial problems, growing up Bundy was jealous and resentful of the kids he went to school with because they had the nicer things in life that he couldn’t. Karl Marx theory explains this why Bundy committed crime because his family was never able to move up in society and stuck to live while being low on money. Due to the family having low money, Bundy found himself outside looking through neighbors trash to find any sort of entertainment that he couldn’t afford to buy. By doing so he found the True Detective magazine that portrayed violence by having bondage as the theme and having the beautiful female character tied up against their will having a deadly weapon in front of them as they had tears and fear written on their face. It is because of these magazines that served as the fuel for Ted Bundy’s sex crimes. It wasn’t the real pornography that motived him, put the fact that he was able to be dominate. Although Bundy lived with a family that didn’t abuse his either way and was stable, they weren’t able to move up far in society and that led Bundy to discover new things because back in the 50’s, America was just being introduced to pornography. Bundy was also jealousy of those that had power and money that he didn’t have. It is because of his childhood that Bundy went on to law school yet never finished and
