Taurus, the “Bull” Constellation

There are many scientific explanations and literary accounts for the constellation Taurus. The name comes from the Latin language and translates to “bull.” Taurus is commonly known as “the bull” (“Taurus Constellation”; Wilkinson).
Taurus is also famously known for being the second zodiac sign (“Taurus”). For someone to have Taurus as their zodiac sign, they have to be born on any day from April 20 to May 20 (Birth Dates and Corresponding Sun Signs). People born during this time are said to be very stable and down-to-earth. They are also known to be dependable but also stubborn (“Taurus” About the Bull).
You can see the constellation Taurus most clearly during the evenings in the month of January in the northern sky (Dolan). The latitudes that it can be found between are +90 degrees and -65 degrees. The Bull also has many neighboring constellations. Just some of them are Aries, Auriga, Eridamus, Gemini, Orion, and Perseus. Taurus is the seventeenth largest constellation (“Taurus Constellation”).
Taurus is made from a total of fifteen stars. (Dolan). The largest and most luminous star within this constellation is Aldebaran. This orange-red giant is the thirteenth brightest star known. Aldebaran has a diameter that is more than forty times the diameter of the sun and in addition to that, it shines over four hundred times brighter than the sun. Aldebaran is classified as a Type LB star (“Taurus” Top Astronomer; “Taurus Constellation”).
Within Taurus, you can see many objects within the area of the constellation. Some of these objects are nebulas, stars and star clusters. One object within Taurus is the Crab Nebula, or Messier 1. It is a “pulsar wind nebula, or plerion” (“Taurus Constellation”). The Crab Nebula that i...
