Secret Life of Bees Sue Monk Kidd did a very good job at bringing the book to life. Not only did she bring in real life events, such as racism and child abuse, she also brings out the very relatable characters. This book lets others connect emotionally with the characters and relate to events that have occurred in the story. Me personally, I relate to this book and one character in particular. Lily Owens. Lily owens is a fourteen year old girl, living with her father after an incident occurred where she accidentally killed her mother when she was just a little girl.
