We would like to introduce our friends and readers to a new section of Investory, featuring interesting facts and captivating phenomena from all around the world! Today we will talk about the fidget spinner. An unusual spinning device that makes a strange noise – where did it come from? Why do people use them? Let’s have a step-by-step look at the history behind the fidget spinner. This rattling thing, a spinner, is a nerve-calming toy. It was patented in 1993 by a chemical engineer named Catherine Hettinger. Her invention was featured in The Guardian, The New York Times and New York Post – but way after it was invented. Someone else named Scott McCoskery claimed to invent the fidget spinner. In an NPR interview on May 4, 2017 he said that he invented the spinner in 2014. …show more content…
Catherine cites several reasons. In one interview, she claimed that the toy was created to relieve stress and nervous energy. The idea came to her when she heard about teenagers in Israel who threw rocks at the police. According to Catherine, she wanted to create a toy that would relieve nervous tension in the youth and “promote peace”. In another interview, she said that the toy was created to help her daughter who suffered from myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disorder that causes muscle weakness. Catherine was not able to play with her daughter so she created a new toy using materials she found lying around the house. When Catherine’s daughter showed the toy to her friends, they also wanted a spinner. As a result, small-batch spinner production began in Florida. Hettinger received a patent for the toy on May 28, 1993. The patent was valid until 2005, when she decided to surrender it because she did not have the $400 renewal

In the beginning of the film, it is the day of Andy’s birthday party. All of Andy’s toys are afraid that they will be replaced by new toys and that Andy will forget about them. The toys want to know what his new presents are
“I still collect toys.Toys are a reflection of society. They are the tools that society uses to teach and enculturate children into the adult world. Toys are not innocent.” (Burden). When you think of toys you probably think about dolls or Hot Wheels. What you probably don’t know is the toys can vary into anything. Toys are usually used to entertain yourself, but what if they represent more than just that. It can be a famous cite, make you question society, or just make you think about how we’re treating each other. Anything can be a toy. You just have to be creative to make it more than a toy. Chris Burden, an amazing artist, famously known for creating artwork that reflect on society, in most of his work he used toys to help him. Burden is famously known for two pieces of artwork, Shoot and Urban
WHO INVENTED IT: The people who invented the jolly ranchers were Bill and Dorothy Harmens.
I am not saying that a Barbi doll is necessarily a bad thing, besides the fact that some of her outfits are frightening, but I would rather have the life like rocket that can fly a 100 feet up before it returns to the ground. This discussion might appear superficial at first, but there is an underlying problem to why a parent might want to encourage their young daughters to play with a science kit instead of deciding what evening gown Barbi looks best in. A lot of the toys designed for boys might also be used as a learning tool. When a boy plays with legos and starts to create buildings he is developing his creativity. This act could lead him into a career as an architect or engineer. When he is encouraged to play with rockets or a microscope he has the potential of developing an interest in science that could lead him into a career working on satellites.
Controlling chemiluminescent light was how Omniglow Incorporated became the first company to produce light sticks. In 1986, when the first light stick was invented, scientists thought they could make a lot of money selling light sticks. However, since they had to make light sticks by hand, it was harder for them to produce very many of them. Until machines were invented to make light sticks, it cost too much money to make them by hand.
Did you know that a lot of people play with fidget spinners? Fidget spinners are the most popular toy ever created because people are in love with these toys. The thing is that fidget spinners are a good focus tool to learn with and should be brought to school because it is good for learning and your skills to learn so you can get more skills. Fidget spinners shouldn’t be banned because the spinners are not a distraction, and they can help other people.
A third reason for banning them is because they are a waste of time and money. To understand the value of a fidget spinner we must know what it's composed of, which is a ball bearing and plastic. Some store owners are charging $20 when the real value is $2. Companies are overpricing the toy and besides doesn’t have that much use for $20, after all it only spins.
Babies always need to have something to fidget with in their little hands, in the movie the babies experienced playing. Granted playing means different things, an example would be when Ponijao played with dirty sticks and

“The first patent for a bent wire paper clip was awarded in the United States to Samuel B. Fay, in 1867. The clip was intended to just attach tickets to fabric, but soon discovered that it can attach papers together.” “The most modern paperclip was invented and patented by William D. Middlebrook in 1899. William didn’t just invent the paperclip, he also invented the machine that makes them.” Mr. Middlebrook’s patent was bought by a manufacturing company,

Faraday built two devices to produce what he called electromagnetic rotation: that is a continuous circular motion from the circular magnetic force around a wire. Ten years later, in 1831, he began his great series of experiments in which he discovered electromagnetic induction. These experiments form the basis of modern electromagnetic technology.
