From the start of every human life to the end of every human life, people have attachments to other people. When we are first born even though we can’t understand it we are starting our attachment with our parents. Even before we are born while we are still inside the womb we are growing attachments. Not only with our mothers but with the anticipation the family and friends of the mother feel in welcoming this child to the world. From that point our we need attachment not only to survive in the world but for our happiness. That is the downside of succumbing to peer pressure. The video defines peer pressure as giving up our morality for membership to our social peer groups. This could mean things such as being peer pressured into smoking or drinking in order to belong to the social group we are trying to join and gain attachment to. Although the choice whether to succumb to the peer pressure is a choice we make as an independent person. The whole point of moving our attachment from our parents to our peer groups is to gain independence and to able to live our lives on our own terms. When we are children our parents do mostly everything for us and they slowly give us more responsibility to help us gain independence as a human being. Focusing our needs from attachment from our parents to our friends in our social peer groups is just another step in this process, but one that leaves parents feeling sad and
