When it involves health one have to ensure that their own health is in a good condition before worrying about other life issues. Without a good health, an individual will be unable to withstand or even have a clear mind to decide or even think about other issues. In terms of my health, I would conclude that my health is average. I am not perfect as I rarely step out and exercise my body and I do not watch what I eat as much. At the same time, how do I know whether or not I am healthy or not? Nevertheless, I must consider other factors that affect my health, for instance, my social positions. In order to understand more about my health, I will analyze two social positions that I identify with. First, what is the social position? Social position is the position that one finds themselves identify as in the society and culture. The two social positions that I expect to have an influence on my health are my social status and my ethnicity. As a family of six, our parents would typically ensure that we are healthy. In addition, my social status also influences the location that I live in as well. For instance, I live in a gated community in Chowchilla. Although it is a gated community, the town lacks certain institutions that can advise an individual of its health. According …show more content…

At the same time, the social and physical environment will influence my overall health. Not every environment will benefit me as there are some environments that encourage bad habits in maintaining one’s health. According to Ana V. Diez Roux and Christina Mair, the authors of “Neighborhoods and health”, they discuss that physical and social environment may have some influences on health “through constraints on, or enhancements of health-related behaviors”.
