In this article it informs us that social imagination is how we understand where we stand in society and how it effects the society as well as how society affects us. Leading to how we develop over time. Some of the strengths from this article are social imagination and trouble vs. issues. For example, in our private lives, we go through obstacles every day, but we don’t really understand what surrounds us. Therefore, when we start realizing and understanding why things start happening, an individual starts feeling more trap. We tend to feel powerless and a lot of times we come across obstacles that we are not able to overcome because of how the society defines an individual. As history continues to progress you start to lose morals and values as what is cherished to. Now we don’t understand change which provides easiness and this causes conflict as we humans struggle with nowadays. For example, back in my days I could not have a phone until I was in high school, now in this time youth have cell phone at a really young age. Surprisingly even 5 years old have cell phones now. It is a private matter that values cherished by an individual are felt by him to be threatened because it only affects the individual. An issue is a larger social structure; it involves the society as a whole because it is a public matter. This can also lead to personal trouble. A person looking for a job because he was the only one being unemployed is considered as a personal trouble. But when we include a nation as a whole being unemployed then it is considered as a public issue. Economic and political is more considered as a public issue because it effects the nation as a whole.
