In Siddhartha, Siddhartha had to overcome many goals at a young age and later on throughout his life. For instance he was expected to be a decent person because his father was a Brahmin. He was dissatisfied because he realized he had learned all he could from his teachers and his parents. “Siddhartha did not answer. He felt little curiosity for the teachings, he did not believe that they would teach him anything new.” He later overcame that when he reached nirvana. After he was dissatisfied he decided to go on his own and reach nirvana, however he was side tracked by joys of the modern world like money materials and women. The women being Kmala. Tom was in a major bike accident and had very bad concussion symptoms. Tom later went on to realize how important were the little things in life. Tom decides to get rid of his mansion that he had because he realized that he doesn’t need this big house to live a good life. Tom was also talking about how humans want to do good, but are corrupt in a way. He was talking about how there is war in this world that we’re living. In addition to that, he talks about how us Americans are obsessed with matearilistic things in life. (I Am) Another movie that we watched this year, where the main character had to over come many things in life through experience was Tuesdays With Moorie. Mich Albolm the main character had to go through life through experiences. It starts out when he meets back up with his old professor Moorie. When he meets back up with him he finds out that his teacher, best friend was diagnosed with ALS. While taking care of Moorie, Mich has to work his dream job of being a Sports Reporter. Mich was always on the go so when he met back up with Moorie he realized that he neaded to slow his life down, and to just enjoy it. Mitch later on has to see his best friend suffer who he was taking care of for a while. Moorie later on goes to die of ALS.
