Your heart racing, adrenaline rushing, butterflies in your stomach,unsure if your performance will be enough and your thumbs moving frantically. This is what a person would experience if they were a professional gamer in a tournament. A person would expect this kind of feelings from a athlete, not a gamer and this is what 78 percent of the population would expect as well. 75 percent of people support that video games should NOT be considered a sport and their right. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary a sport is defined as “ An activity that requires physical activity and has a set of rules that must be obeyed.” This is the first reason why videogames are not sports. On the physical side one would have to worry about tunnel vision. This is when an object is not in the middle of view, a person would not be able to see it. Along with tunnel vision, one would have to worry about their vision. Someone could lose a good amount of vision if they pay attention to the TV too much. Also someone would could experience fatigue. All these can cause long term problems for a person. On the other hand there are mental problems to worry about. Gamers have been known to have unstable, and often uncontrollable emotions. Also 75 % of games have failed selfishness test. Which means sometimes gamers care more about games than things that really matter. In recent studies, swimming has been found to be the best sports for your body. It's been prove to help your heart. Swimming can help one's cardiovascular system. Swimming has also been proven to increase flexibility, and can contribute to losing weight. Sports can also help with one’s mind as well. There are so many ways sports can benefit people, mentally. Sports can help our mood. Over 89 percent of people that play sports say they feel much happier and joyful while playing sports. Sports can also decrease stress and depression. I and many of my classmates find this to be true.Sports can benefit children in many of the same ways that they benefit adults. The biggest difference is that when children start participating in sports at a young age, they are far more likely to stay active as they grow older. The same source suggests that participating in a team sport improves academic performance and results in more after-school participation. Nobody would get these same results forming playing video games. Sports have been proven to help students perform better,academically.
