1 November 2016 The movie Se7en (Seven) directed by David Fincher is about two homicide detectives, Mills and Somerset (Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman respectively), and their trials and tribulations on catching a murderer. The serial killer justifies his killings, no matter how horrific, as absolution for the world's ignorance of the Seven Deadly Sins. One by one each of the Seven Deadly Sins are portrayed in gruesome killings: Gluttony first with the obese man, then a lawyer portrays greed, sloth above the bed of a drug dealer and child molester missing one hand, who was tied to the bed and starved for a year, a prostitute who represents lust, a woman who committed suicide over something unimportant …show more content…

The scene where Mills, Somerset, and John Doe are in the desert and the box shows up with Tracy Mills (David Mills’ wife) head in it. In this world we live in, someone being able to plan something like this would probably be highly unlikely, but that being said, there are some seriously sick individuals living among us. So I would hope and like to believe that something like this could never occur, but never say never. It’s extremely unbelievable that John Doe was able to pull this off. To plan such an event perfectly with no hiccups, and in some sick way, it’s kind of awesome that he was able to maintain such a meticulous plan to the “t”. He was even able to plan his own death right after this scene by enraging Mills so much that he commits the Deadly Sin of wrath on John Doe when he shoots him six times. This scene was one-hundred percent not predictable. It came out of nowhere with an insurmountable amount of shock value. You are not quite sure what to expect when John Doe leads the detectives to the desert and then this happens and it blows you away. Another point in this story is when David Mills is assigned to a “different case” after Somerset and the captain think he should be taken off of the current one, but it soon becomes known that the two murders are related. This is somewhat realistic in that detectives can be switched on and off of cases at any given time if there is a reason to. It
