The food the cafeteria makes is bad because it is very unhealthy, tastes disgusting, and is way overpriced. Firstly cafeteria food is very unhealthy. It is very important for young students to learn a healthy eating habits. The cafeteria does not promote healthy eating as much as junk foods.
While watching Food Inc. I was surprised by all of the ingredients in food that we were unaware of. This shocks me, because you think you are eating healthy but that is hardly the case at all. The food we eat is so gross and contaminated with bacteria that doesn’t die when cooked. The supermarkets and grocery stores that we shop in are completely incorrect and false advertisement.
When you send your children off to school, you might worry about bullying or about their academic performance, but you generally don’t consider their lunch-time meal to be a potential problem. Now imagine, for a moment, your son or daughter is given the option between a juicy cheeseburger with greasy French fries and a healthier chicken salad. It’s a no-brainer what choice they will make. Now, stop imagining because you don’t have to. Instances like this are a reality everyday in many school cafeterias.

Another example that shows that schools should be responsible for providing a nutritious lunch is knowing that there are a variety of ways to make healthy foods taste good for school students. Healthy tasty food that will risk diabetes and obesity .One of the biggest reasons people do not eat healthy foods is because they feel it as if it will not taste good. The problem is, if your health food does not taste good, you are eating the wrong health food. Just because something is good for you does not mean it has to taste nasty, boring, or completely gross. There are plenty of ideas out there for eating healthy without making sacrifices on taste.

The lunches are made of extremely poor materials that are filled with processed ingredients. The low quality of lunches at school is wrong and we need to do everything possible, regardless of the cost, to improve them. Schools may try to say that the lunches they provide are perfectly nutritious and healthy, but that is definitely not the entire truth.
