Lord of Flies Savagery and Civilazation Lord of flies is about a group of schoolboys, who got stuck on uninhabited island after a plane crash. On island they struggle with savagery and civilazation while they are waiting to be rescued. William Golding gives the examples of elements what makes society ‘civilized’ which contains rules, laws and morality. He shows the consequences of what happens if we don’t follow the rules which he lead to savagery in his book. This civilazation in book also can be a metaphor for a government, its creation. At first they start to civilize themselves by creating rules and voting for a leader, also they doing it on their own without any grown-ups help. They vote for Jack and Ralp in which Ralph was selected as a leader because of his idea blowing the conch shell and gathering all together “partly because Ralph blew it, and he was big enough” . Ralph he sets some rules, and says that each one of them take some role in order to survive until they get rescued. …show more content…

For example Ralph represents the politicians and his conch shell is representing the law in society he also stands for civilazation. Jack might be representing the military leader because he all the time speaks about hunting, protection and way too much aggressive for his age, he also responsibile for food. W. Golding also gives us a character called Piggy with specs which might be representetive for scientists, scholars because the way he speaks is quite different from any other character, he has critical tone, he’s specs helps the boys to start a fire and he is the one of few characters that you can pity on because he died for nonsense reason. The boys don’t listen Piggy’s ideas even though his ideas are
