After completing the O*NET questionnaire, I scored highest in the area of enterprising. My eventual job position does not yet meet my current experience level, although there were two occupations that fit my overall criteria contingent upon my college graduation. Those occupations were that of Financial Manager (Branch or Department) and Human Resources Specialist. Those two jobs are a bit different in nature, but that contrast is a way of showing my versatility. I would enjoy being a financial manager because it combines business savvy and the ability to interact with people. I have always been an engaging person and thoroughly enjoy developing and cultivating relationships. A financial manager would need to do that on all levels as interacting with colleagues, subordinates, clients and potential clients is a critical part of the job. There would also be a need for an extreme attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of finances. This is an area that appeals to me a great deal, which would enable me to soak up new information in a sponge-like fashion. This is a job that helps individuals and employee relations is an everyday task. This fits right in with my high ‘social’ ranking on the O*NET survey. With this position, there is a need to successfully interact with people as well as being able to problem solve. Problem solving is part of my ‘skills’ repertoire which would work in conjunction with my communication abilities. My visual understanding would also allow me to decipher hidden patterns among people, a welcomed trait among HR specialists.
