There are many characters in literature to like. My favorite in particular is Sam Kingston from Before I Fall. She is my favorite because she learned from her mistakes and she found out what was really important in life. In the story Before I Fall, Sam Kingston relives the day she died over and over again for 7 days. Sam is a very complicated person. She loves having fun and going out with her friends. Sam is honestly a good person deep down, but she hides behind the belief that she has to be just like her friends. Sam does not have a healthy relationship with her family. She does not eat breakfast with her family and she never stays home on a friday night. Her mother never steps foot in her room since Sam told her not to, and though she may not know it she misses that. In reality her family might be her savior. The only thing that ties her back to the real world. On the day that Sam dies she goes out on a rainy night to a party that Kent, a boy that likes her, is throwing. The night already starts out badly because Juliet, the school “psycho”, shows up to insult them. This is the first time Sam can remember seeing the girl’s face. She’s pretty. Sam soon time that she has with her family. Sam begins to understand that she only has so much time to live and learns that she is that only one who is experiencing this. Sam has to learn that she needs to cherish the that she needs to hold that in her hands, like a precious diamond. In the book Sam starts to spend more time with her little sister Izzie. She takes her to place she used to go as a little kid when shen was sad or something was wrong. She also begins to fall for Kent, who truly cherishes her. He is so different from her old boyfriend Rob. She finally starts to appreciate her friends and her parents. She notices how much her parents love each other and
