The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare in the 1300’s. In Act 2 Scene 2, Romeo is under the balcony where Juliet is standing, and Juliet notices him, therefore they start discussing about their love life. When people fall in love they think about each other, they don’t think about life decisions, then they go insane about each other, and they think that people might hate them for their decisions. At the beginning of this scene, Juliet is talking about how being with Romeo is bad because he’s part of the Montague family,”Tis but thy name that is my enemy.Thou art thyself,though
Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare, where a boy and a girl fall in love with each other during a party hosted by Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet. The two teenager decide to get marry, despite their family's hate for each other and only meeting each other a few hours ago. However, the Montagues (Romeo’s Parents) and the Capulets end their feud after they discover that their children killed themselves. Romeo and Juliet’s death was caused by Juliet’s parents, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence.
The reader realizes this when the prologue states, “Two households, both alike in dignity/ In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, / From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,/ Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean./ From forth the fatal loins of these two foes/ A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life” (I 1-6). This translates to say two families have been rivals for many years. Romeo and Juliet are two from separate rivaling families that fall in love. The reader can acknowledge that these two individuals meet one another due to fate. However, they know that because of their parents’ hatred of each other, they can never be together. “My only love sprung from my only hate!/ Too early seen unknown, and known too late!/ Prodigious birth of love it is to me,/ That I must love a loathed enemy” (I v138-140). A decision is made that the only way to be happy is to take their lives. As soon as the play begins, the audience can foresee a tragic ending because of the language used.

In William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet play, the character that I took interest in and thought that helped with unfolding the plot the most would be Juliet. Juliet played a very big role because she was the star crossed lover of Romeo Montague. In my slide, I pulled out a few quotes that I found that focused on Juliet’s personality. Juliet provides a pure and beautiful personality. Romeo says “It is the east, and Juliet is the sun” (2.2.3) while she enters the balcony for their kissing scene. To interpret this, it meant as a comparison, as Romeo expresses Juliet’s beauty and radiant glow. Romeo falls in love with Juliet at first sight and he truly shows compassion for her.
