Reality Television and The destruction It Brings

“Here comes Honey Boo Boo” is the epiphany and not to mention the most idiotic of reality TV. Reality television in itself is a destructive type of entertainment that people seem to enjoy very much. It usually consists of people who are new to the television world, a large amount of arguments or challenges, or a set of people doing funny things. The amount of stupidity that flows out these shows is so colossal that it actually can affect how you think. Most of the reality shows you can find while channel surfing are scripted or edited in a way to grab your attention. They are essentially fake, this is causing the people of our nation to believe untrue bits of information and life lessons that would not occur in the real world.

“Honey Boo Boo” is a Reality TV show that consists of a girl named Alana and her mother, June, competing in various child beauty pageants. They also partake in some pretty odd activities such as riding a butter slip n’ slide, creating a mixture of ketchup and butter for use as spaghetti sauce, and participating in the “redneck games” in Georgia. Alana, or Honey Boo Boo has a special cocktail of mountain dew and Redbull that she drinks before every pageant. She calls it here “gogo juice.” She wins some pageants and she loses some, but it never affects how rambunctious her home life is. There is honestly not a single fact or potentially intelligent aspect to this show. You might as well have a funeral for your lost brain cells before you pick up the remote to watch this show.

Most Americans who watch these shows do not understand what type of information they are placing in their heads. Most, if not all, of reality TV shows consist of a challenge or contest that requires them to compete agai...

In conclusion, reality shows are honestly the worst type of entertainment. They are cheap, fake and utterly pointless. Producers are simply using type of programming to make easy money since it does not require many funds. The way these shows provide information to the public is concerning since most of it is not thought provoking or in any way intelligent. In fact, it shows you how not to act in a public place. It provides an adverse affect on how people should be thinking. It is incredibly unhealthy for the mind to be watching those types of shows. Most Americans do not realize or understand this. There is no stopping the flow of media. Everything is becoming illiterate and translucent. Do you know what is good for your brain? When you put together a thousand piece puzzle.
