3) Techniques for Establishing Rapport: Braelynn is my coach’s daughter, so I have gotten to know her pretty well over the last three years. Before administering the TEMA-3, we spent some time together outside, just talking about how her week has gone. While discussing everything from her softball practice to what I had for supper, Braelynn and I shared a lot of laughs, which strengthened our relationship and helped both of us to be more relaxed. Once again, before beginning the test, I described the test format to her, as well as the purpose of it. 4) Description of Testing Setting: The test was administered in Braelynn’s bedroom. We both sat on the floor. I kept the scoring sheet on the clipboard (so she couldn’t see the marks I was making), and Braelynn held onto the Student Worksheet/Picture Book. The biggest problem was that Braelynn was kind of all over the place. She did pretty well for the first 10-15 minutes, but then she lost all of her focus. At this point, we took a short break to relax and regroup. We then resumed testing. This seemed to help a little bit, but I could tell that she was tired and was demonstrating less and less effort as the questions went on. I feel that her lack of focus may have had a small negative impact on her scores
