Personal Statement
Not many people resolve to pursue Medicine because of the serious commitment it requires. My decision to pursue Medicine is the amalgamation of several influences- the awe of exploring the human body, the ability of helping someone with failing health and the privilege of being trusted to save lives. My understanding of the need to sacrifice my time for my patients, often forsaking my own needs, has not deterred me.
Having stood 79th out of the 250,000 aspirants, I joined one of the best institutes in the country for undergraduate training. My training at KEM Hospital bequeathed me with sound theoretical knowledge and the aptitude to apply it to clinical scenarios.
Medicine, as a career, has a lot to offer. In what other career can one choose between delivering babies, treating someone’s cancer, or helping someone with psychiatric problems? My first clinical rotation- Obstetrics and Gynecology; my first day in the …show more content…

During my electives in the USA, I was exposed to those aspects of Medicine, such as robotics, that I would have never seen in India. It was then that I was certain I want to pursue a residency in the USA. In pursuit of this, I look forward to completing an observership in Internal Medicine in the coming month.
My diverse life experiences have taught me resilience and determination. My intense experience in clinical research has inculcated in me the virtues of patience, persistence and perseverance. I have a heartfelt interest in community welfare and through several health camps, I have endorsed that healthcare is the prerogative of all- rich or poor, urban or rural.
This city is not new to me. Several relatives live here. I have heard a lot about your institute from them. Quaint commercial districts, serene residential streets and landmarks of American history are a few of the highlights that attracted me to this
