The Keystone pipeline has caused many calamities towards the economy, sacred native sites and affected the health of the community. Although the pipeline has its flaws, some may argue that the pipeline has created countless positive aspects for everyone. The known saying is that the pipeline will create numerous jobs for unemployed citizens by former President Trump. Everyone is tbeing misinformed of the negative side effects the pipeline has created for thousands of endless native people and job offers. With that thought, there are many ways to handle the pipeline, and the community it is affecting. A further idea is to create the pipeline in a shorter amount of time and then there would be fewer job openings. Trump has also reversed Obama’s administration’s decision of blocking the pipeline. Trump reversed the prior decision and officially signed the papers it has become a controversial topic that was spreading. Also, stated on the Labor 4 Sustainability, “When the company’s own figures showed that the project would actually hire only 5,000 to 6,000 workers over the 3-year construction period, a large proportion of them not high-paid, high-skill jobs but low-skilled, low-paid pick and shovel jobs.” Companies along with people in higher use miscommunication to people who are in desperate need of a job. The use of the pipeline has not had any type of positive impact. The only positive impact there could have been being having more jobs and being dependent on oil, but those always come with a catch. The Keystone Pipeline is being built so that the United States can become dependent on there own fossil fuels.
