Recommended: The consequences of zoos for animals
Topic 1 The National Zoo should be closed and the animals should be released into their natural habitat.
Context: The National Zoo keeps exotic animals in captivity because of educational purposes and claims they are protecting and conserving endangered species. Long time ago, we saw news about the threat that animals are given there. For instance, in a timeframe of 10 years many animals have died in different circumstances, such as negligence, inadequate climate, sickness, etc.
Statement of our view: The National Zoo is incapable to protect the animals and it promotes to keep exotic animals in captivity affirming they look after them.
Supporting reasons:
First reason: The National Zoo has not the conditions necessaries to look after exotic

In many years, graffiti has been considered as vandalism but many local artists make the effort to change that image.
Statement of our view:
Graffiti is a form of modern art and many people appreciate the work that many talented artists make in Los Angeles downtown. At the same time, they promote to avoid drugs and gangs.
Supporting reasons:
First reason: Artists can express a broad range of feelings, emotions and even social and politics aspects in their murals. It is the only way some people communicate dissenting messages to the public without being censured. Evidence:
Second reason: Distinction between simple tags and more complicated pieces can make a big difference and should be considered as art because it requires planning, imagination, color composition, and the most important thing: they transmit a message to the public.
Evidence: There is a tour in Los Angeles, “The Dowtown Graffiti and Mural Tour” and it is organized by The Dejavita Art Boutique in which people make a walk to see many spots and murals made by local street artists and it costs $12.00 USD per person. People enjoy this trip and take pictures of the most beautiful pieces in LA
Have you ever seen an animal sitting in a cage all alone with nothing to do. Well, zoos are trying to change that fact. They will allow the animals to live in an environment that is like their home. Many people don't realize this, but zoo are keeping and breeding these animals because they would not survive in the wild alone. In the three passages, ¨The Stripes Will Survive,¨ ¨The Zood Go Wild from No More Dodos,¨ ¨Our Beautiful Macaws and Why They Need Enrichment.¨ All of these articles present one claim, that is that the role of zoos is no longer to keep animal, but to protect them.
Cope, Doris L. Week 2 Environmental Ethics Essays 1 Zoos are immoral because they capture wild animals from their native homelands, transport them to strange lands, and hold them captive for human amusement and entertainment for long periods of time while largely ignoring their intrinsic right. The only way zoos can possibly be moral is if zoos really put the interests of the animals first and if zoos found ways for us to observe them. (Sanger 2014). In response to the philosophically based animal rights movement of the 1980s, The Zoological Society of San Diego had to admit that concerns for humane treatment and quality of life within zoological institutions mirrored the attitudes of society toward human-animal relationships…and
The first point of view from this issue is the side that believes humans, zoos and other facilities should be allowed to keep animals. The places that captivate animals believe that they are doing a favor to the creatures. They believe that they are saving them from being killed by humans. They say that if they would not have taken in these animals they would have died in the wild. They say they’re giving them a fresh new start and a place to live without worry. For example, in this article they state that zoos try and h...
The beauty of art is that everyone has a different opinion of what they consider art. A highly debated topic is if graffiti can be considered art. Technically speaking, it is usually vandalism but people believe it is also art. Although it is in fact vandalism, graffiti is still art because it is self-expression of the individual and can even convey powerful messages that can reach out and affect the everyday person.
No matter what the argument, wild animals are not meant to be kept in a small artificially stimulated environment all their life. The argument of zoos saving animals from extinction will put forward the reasoning on why a stimulated environment and zoos in general are not beneficial to these creatures. While Zoos are a popular source of entrainment today often people forget that our entertainment is at the expense of some beautiful creatures, who are not enjoying the Zoo experience as much as the
Have you ever felt like you were trapped in a cage and all alone? Where people are just watching you and not helping you escape. Well animals in zoos feel this way just for our entertainment. They are being hurt and dying in the fenced in area for us to just look at them. The articles “Animal-rights group complains about Pittsburgh Zoo elephants” and “Argentine court’s ruling gives basic human rights to captive ape at zoo” give reasons why zoos should be abolished.
Zoos have the worst conditions for the animals. The cages are described as having feces in the water and having non real habitats. The animals are explained to not like the conditions that they live in. They have to endure these poor conditions just to be looked at for the people’s amusement.
Have you ever seen a beautiful tiger pace back and forth in its cage? It’s because there not supposed to be caged up it's not healthy for them mentally and physically. In the past year’s many animals have died from being in zoos. You may think the animals are being taken care of in the zoos but that’s not always the case. In my research, you will discover the horrifying facts about how they treat the zoo animals from around the world.
Zoos are all over the world, however, when looked at closely their corrupted system is very cruel. Zoos have endangered countless animals when capturing, keeping the animals in a small cage and never letting them leave that specific area and last but not least abusing them. Governments should outright ban these dreadful prisons and help animals be free. Before talking about zoos and what they do let's look at the very first step: capturing. `Zoos use many methods of capturing although the main method is through tranquilizers.
Overall there are many deaths at many zoos while animals may even favor death rather than being trapped in confined
The animals should not have to stay inside of these cruel zoos away from their natural habitat. There shouldn’t be zoos because zoo enclosures aren’t right for animals, keeping animals in spaces can make them angry, and zoos teach that humans control nature. The first reason is a zoo enclosure is not the right place for an animal. The animals that are being kept in some of these
Zoos have been around for quite some time; however not all the animals are being treated with the care they deserve. They should not be taken from their friends and family in the wild and be forced to live in cement cages for the rest of their lives. Some zoos in the world do go above and beyond to make sure their animals are satisfied, but something needs to change with those zoos who are only meeting the governmental requirements. There are animals around the world living in captivity that are starving, suffering, spending their days pacing, and all alone. Zoos that do not reach the space, care and social requirements for animals are not ethical and should not be allowed to continue forcing these animals to suffer.
The use of zoos and captive breeding does nothing to address these serious problems. Instead, it puts more than 7,000 animal species in jeopardy of extinction. In fact, if the millions of dollars used on the redesigning of enclosures that do nothing to improve animal welfare, such as the building of amusement rides and statues or creation of concession stands and gift shops went towards habitat-preservation projects, there would be more animals to see in the
Animals are confined in zoos for the sake of human entertainment, as well as constantly suffering from the lack of care, being abused, and even being killed for nonsensical reasons. Executive director Dr. Lesley
Supporters of zoos argue that they help to conserve endangered species, but in fact they are not very good at this. Even the world famous panda-breeding programme has been very costly and unsuccessful. Also, zoo life does not prepare animals for the challenges of life in the wild. For example, two rare lynxes released into the wild in Colorado died from starvation even though the area was full of hares, which are a lynx’s natural prey.
