The Issue of Human Trafficking

In today's generation, there are millions of men, women, children who are targeted by human traffickers. Human Trafficking has become a successful form of profit to those committing the crime. Not only is it a global worldwide crime, it is a hidden crime as well. As a country, we are blindsided by these acts of selfishness and greed on innocent victims. The illegal trade and exploitation of humans being forced into labor, prostitution, and favors are considered inhumane acts of human trafficking itself.

Many women and children are targets to this crime. The challenges are a struggle for those being targeted because they feel disempowered, frustrated and stressed out. Under those circumstances, they refuse to say anything due to being maybe, scared. '' Child sex trafficking destroys lives and is a complete affront to any reasonable understanding of human ethics and morality. '' (Human Trafficking 62) ''. Luring men, women, and children to do things unimaginable are not how they are suppose to live or grow as an individual. In the country of Bosnia, it is known for a pimp to spy on young children and threaten to harm their families if he/she refuses to work as a prostitute for them. '' Prostitution, trafficking and pornography are all facts of life, and have been around from time immemorial. '' (70). In fact, many women are deceived by manpower agencies. In Spain, prostitution is a socially accepted factor, that reports claim 39% of Hispanic men have used a prostitute's service at least once. '' To meet this vast demand, an estimated 300,000 prostitutes are currently working in Spain. '' (9). In the end, those who campaign for trafficking victims have been extremely critical of authorities' response to the crime.
