Personal Narrative: The Things That Changed My Life

From the time that I was a baby until now, almost 13 years later, I have grown and changed in various ways. There are things that I used to do that I no longer do as the years have gone by. Things like school, chores, and just overall maturity has changed me from when I was younger. One thing I used to do was watch television, particularly Nick Jr. Most children used probably did the same at that age but I was a case for the record books. I would be so completely absorbed in whatever garbage was put in front of me and focused on little else. One thing that changed me from this behavior was school. Every other Tuesday I have to help take out the trash, after dinner I have to wash the dishes, every few months I have to clean my room, and on occasion I have to mop several rooms around the house. This drastically reduces my time in front of the television because I never want to do my chores and I go really slowly to show my displeasure. The last thing that has changed me is growing up in general. As I’ve gone from baby to toddler to kid to preteen and am now encroaching upon teen territory, I’ve come to look back on how just growing up has caused me to simply grow out of certain things. Nowadays between schoolwork and chores keeping me busy and all my free time spent either on my phone or playing video games, I don’t really watch TV that much anymore. Not to mention that most of the age appropriate shows are, in my opinion, complete garbage, and there are really only two or three shows meant for adults that I do watch, television isn’t all that appealing to me
