Personal Narrative: Rebecca's Life

It was 4:30 a.m. and Rebecca’s eyes opened and suddenly she discovered that she was wide-awake. Before she even realized it, her feet hit the floor and she began preparing for the day ahead. Rebecca’s mind was racing with excitement, well ahead of the task of feeding her furry companion Maximillian, whom she had picked up at the local animal shelter two years back. She could not recall what life was like before Max came into her life. Rebecca rarely shortened his name because, although Max rose from humble beginnings, it would not have been evident to anyone that had ever observed his dietary requirements, the plush four-legged amenities he enjoyed, or the way he took pleasure in relaxing within the cozy, yet well-appointed apartment he …show more content…

The morning was crisp and clear and for the most part quiet, all but for the distant sounds of the nearby city that was just starting to awake from its slumber. The houses were colorfully painted in untold layers, the last few, having been approved by the local historical society. Michael thought to himself that the paint, was in large part responsible for holding a few of the houses together. As He walked, Michael paid little attention to the colorful, crisp fall leaves under his feet nor the festive decorations adorning the lawns, porches and stoops in the neighborhood. Instead, what Michael noticed was the clutter! Political yard signs dotted manicured lawns, and there were more signs than one cared to count in the four-way intersections and roadway medians. Michael hated it, nothing good ever came of change and this year one thing was certain, there would be considerable change regardless of who won the right to occupy the oval office.
