Recommended: The importance of teaching art in schools

Art has been apart of who I am for as long as I remember, and wanting to go to FIT goes back just as long. There was a time where I lost my way when it came to art and wanted to do something that was more "conventional", but my passion for something I've done all my life was something I just couldn't dismiss. My grandma lives down the street from FIT and growing up, I'd pass the building and tell her, "Mamita, I'm going to go to that school when I grow up." Applying here is to keep that promise and that dream that drove me to grow as an artist alive.
