Art has been apart of who I am for as long as I remember, and wanting to go to FIT goes back just as long. There was a time where I lost my way when it came to art and wanted to do something that was more "conventional", but my passion for something I've done all my life was something I just couldn't dismiss. My grandma lives down the street from FIT and growing up, I'd pass the building and tell her, "Mamita, I'm going to go to that school when I grow up." Applying here is to keep that promise and that dream that drove me to grow as an artist alive. Going to college and taking that next step in pushing my current abilities is a really important milestone for me. Moving from traditional drawing on lined pieces of paper at age 5 to digitally
It's hard for me to say where I'll be in the years to come, already my life has strayed from the path I once thought it would follow. However, that doesn't change my motivation or determination to reach and excel at my personal goals. My whole life I've endured a system that dictated what should be important to me, and while it's helped me learn the practical skills I need outside of an academic setting, I have a passion to grow further from what's expected of me, and so with much enthusiasm I look forward to attending college in which I hope to achieve more by constantly learning and expanding my personal knowledge.
I have applied to Saint Ignatius College Prep because I think that it is the right school for me. Saint Ignatius is a place where I feel that I can be pushed to my limits to learn as much as I can as well as meet lots of new people. I love the esthetic of the school and how kind everyone is to each other. I believe that Saint Ignatius is the place for me because everyone is open to new ideas and others' opinions. Saint Ignatius is a place where I can excel in both learning and extra-curricular related activities. Over the summer, I took a classical mythology class at Saint Ignatius and I learned so much from Dr. Wood (the teacher). Throughout my time at Saint Ignatius over the summer, I learned so much about the school and discovered many more
There are many things that have molded me into the person I am today such as being born into a family with four children. With three siblings, I have been forced to be able to work out problems from stealing each other’s toys to having to rush to the emergency room to get stiches because my brother chased me around the house and I tripped. My mother, father, brother, and two sisters were all born in Pennsylvania and I am the odd ball and I was born in Adrian, Michigan. From when I was a child I always loved being involved with sports because of my competitive nature. I grew up playing soccer and having success with that but then my love changed and I began playing lacrosse and football. I started playing lacrosse in middle school and played
While I wish finding my way around the school was my only problem, I was faced with some internal challenges. As the school year started, my friends slowly started to leave to these “big shot” colleges or simply move away to other community colleges. I, too, wanted the complete “college experience” somewhere in Arizona or across the country; yet I felt stuck and unaccomplished. I also felt jealousy which could have been because I did not get to decorate my dorm room. While talking about dedicating hard work to your education, Gina Rodriguez said “Just remember, during those times of fear and doubt, that you are right now discovering your true strength.” And in those times of doubt, I reminded myself why I could not just move and leave everything behind. The root of my challenges and concerns are my family. As I enrolled as a full time student, my family was fighting some financial problems which created marriage troubles for my parents. I could not leave at a time like this. I knew it was not the first time my parents were talking divorce but somehow I knew it was best to stay. I got financial aid from the school which saved me the fuss of asking my parents for money. It really meant so much to not put another worry on their
Mario Andretti once said, “Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” Andretti’s words are as true today as when he spoke them. Everyday should be a continuous journey to get to your goal. Starting off with the right step is a major component. Therefore, I chose to apply to Stanly Early College High. I believe that I have the ability to work up to Stanly Early College standards. Determination, dedication, and desire are all qualities that I have.
Within my fifteen and a half years of living, I have experienced many heart wrenching moments that have changed who I am, so many that I stopped trying to keep count long ago. Like most teenagers, the past couple of years have been some of the most confusing, hectic years of my life. I'm at that age I'm trying to figure out who I am, as well as who I want to become. As indecisive as I am, I will more than likely change my mind a time or two, but right now at this very moment, I've finally come to terms with who I really am, and what I would like to do for the rest of my life.
When I think about my future I imagine a life full of success and accomplishment. I believe that The Clark Advanced Learning center will help to set me on my path towards reaching all of my goals and aspirations. I want to attend this school because of the learning environment and educational values it exemplifies. Also, I like how Clark is a small school and I think that it would be good for me to learn along-side other likeminded students that have a strong desire to learn and succeed. Hopefully I will be one of the students chosen to attend The Clark Advanced Learning Center during the next enrollment period.
Since before I can remember, I have tenaciously dreamt of receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts in New York City. Everything in my life has been geared towards achieving this goal, starting with my first photography award in the third grade. Although the thought of college can be daunting, I believe I am adequately prepared due to the education I have received and my ability to balance my responsibilities and freedoms.
From an early age I have always had a strong interest in art, and have been involved with it in some form all through my life. In year nine I realized that it was something that I might like to pursue as a career, I started taking it more seriously. The Chase's art department encouraged me very well and helped me develop my art skills.
Throughout the entirety of my high school experience, my school has prepared me to be what they call, ‘future ready’. This concept was designed to prepare us for what comes next after high school, we were told to contemplate colleges and careers that we’d want to pursue. Growing up, I wanted to be an artist, to share my creativity and to inspire others through my art, but I realized that I needed to more than that, and my hobby wasn’t a realistic career choice. Last year, after months of trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, I discovered my true calling. I spent years complaining about the school system and staff, nagging me constantly to do better, but what I realize now is that they were only trying to encourage me to succeed, to make a difference, and that’s exactly what I want to do. The American educational system is designed to inform and inspire, and that’s how I choose to give back to my country as well.
The story about I Martranika Gross, called changing my life. It all begin with many ideals that I had in mind to become while changing my life so my daughter will fix in. First was continue my education at Strayer University and a journey to follow. Next, becoming a role model with a pathway lay out for my daughter, a showing her not to stay you can’t to become successful. Finally, overcome obstacles first you have to have faith within yourself, and the key word is knowledge.
I know that NewSchool will be a remarkable place for me where I get to connect with other young architects that share the same profession and interests. I felt that NewSchool really focuses on the arts and designs and it would be great to be a part of it. I know and feel that I would be a good candidate because I know I have creativity and imagination within me that can be shown and expressed. I know that I will be a hardworking candidate who gives my all in everything to reach my goal. I want my creativity and my artistic abilities to extend to an alternative level and become a career that I truly love and enjoy performing at.
Although money isn’t everything, being financially secure is very important. Money can’t buy love or happiness, but it makes life easier knowing you have a house to go home to, food in your fridge, and clothes to put on your back. My family had a hard time when I was growing up with making ends meet and I want to make sure that I do everything in my power to keep that from happening to my future family. If I apply myself in college and strive for knowledge, I will have the potential to become very adept in my field which will help me achieve my goal of financial stability because I’ll be able to keep a job. I also hope for my future that I stay open to new experiences, whatever the world may throw at me. I want to be able to travel and see new cultures, societies, and people. Hand-in-hand with traveling, I would love to volunteer all over the world, as well. I take great pride in doing volunteer work and it would be an enlightening experience to be able to help out around the world. Something else I am passionate about is music. I hope that I have the time and ability to continue on with my music career as my life progresses. Doing bands and music things at UWEC will help me to achieve this goal because I will learn immensely under great instruction. Going to UW Eau Claire will aid me in reaching all of these goals I have set myself. I am excited to see what my future holds for me
I am by myself wearing my blue jeans and an old flannel shirt. It is cool outside but I decided to leave my gloves at home, feeling comfortable with my warm shirt and my sturdy boots.
The journey of life follows a predetermined pattern; we evolve from needing influence and guidance to finally reaching that point where our lives are up to us. I consider myself very lucky up to this point in my journey. Some people become sidetracked and wind up on a far different course than initially planned, but the detours I made have only assisted in embellishing the individual instead of devouring it.
