We drove back through the arch of tangled greenery and shimmering lights. As we passed under it, a spell lifted and reality grasped my whole body. Let me tell you something, reality ain’t appealing. Especially when you have just exited a place where our everyday reality doesn’t exist We came to a halt at a stoplight right outside of the arch and my head whipped around involuntarily back to the arch as if my body was trying to wrestle its way out of the reality of the real world. I turned back around in my seat, crossed my arms, and slouched. I thought, Why did we have to leave? When were we coming back? And are we ever coming back? My family was in Florida for my dad’s work conference and we decided to go spend a few days at Disney World. I was four years old and actually don’t recall much of that trip. There was one experience that will always be dear to my heart. This experience was the time I first fell in love with the magic of Disney... “Come on, Mommy! Let’s go! We were asked what we would like to drink and a tray of sweet, sticky pastries were brought out. I never had gotten to have dessert for breakfast. It was like the best dream! We enjoyed our main course as the other Disney princesses paid a visit to our table. Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, and Aurora were swirling around the tables in the dining room talking to the guests. They all readily signed my autograph book and many memories were captured along with some photos taken by my
