I can to America when I was 6 months old and lived my whole life here, but I do visit my country which is Turkey from time to time. Like everyone else who comes to America, we also came for a better life. I have two sisters and two brothers. When we came to America my brothers went to school and my sisters didn’t. They didn’t go to school here, because back then in our country girls didn’t go to school. They would stay home and help around the house. Boys would go to school and then became the money making of the house. So in my family like I have said my sisters didn’t go to school and worked in factories. So my brothers did, but one of them dropped out of high school to work and the other only finished high school and went straight to work. …show more content…

The high school I went to was Bucks County High school and there they have career classes. I took the nursing class, because I love helping people. To make someone smile makes me smile. It’s something to be proud about, knowing that you helped someone or made someone’s day better. So in twelfth grade we went out to a nursing home to take care of people. I was so shy at first to even speak to the patients, but if I don’t then there is no way to help them. They not only need help, they need a companion, they were very lonely, they have no one to sit down and talk to. Most of the patients families don’t come to see them at all. So they thought me to be less shy and talk to people, because people need someone to talk to more so than someone to just sit them up in bed or feed them or help them walk or whatever they need help with and then leave them all alone once
