I am considered to be most like the fictional character Dr. Spencer Reid on the CBS crime drama “Criminal Minds.” Although I am not a genius, possess several doctorates, and can read 20,000 words per minute, I can be described as having a mind similar to his. I do, however, possess a personality similar to his, mainly because of our tendency to be friendly, but at times socially awkward. Though, what makes me most like this character is our passion for doing something that we love to do, whether it be learning or crime solving. Therefore, Dr. Spencer Reid and I are alike through our intelligence, personality, and passion for Something we love to do. Although Dr. Reid’s brain and my brain are not the same, we both use our intelligence to solve …show more content…

When Dr. Spencer Reid meets someone new he does not know how to approach the situation, and ends up saying something weird. I tend to be shy when meeting new people and as I begin speaking I sometimes stutter. Most of the time, I also say something that makes the situation awkward and when I attempt to recover from my error I just make the situation worse. However, like Reid, I have grown better with my people skills and am now able to approach others in a more confident and “normal” way. Family members are the easiest people for both of us to talk to, most likely because our families have been with us since birth and we have gotten used to their company and presence. Reid and I are not afraid of telling our parents the truth or expressing how we feel to them, because they are there to help us during tough situations and we are there for them, as well. For example, if I should ever experience a situation in which I would get in trouble in …show more content…

As a criminal profiler, Reid is obligated to arrest criminals and reunite families with their loved ones. However throughout the episodes, it is noticeable that whenever a tragic event occurs, he perseveres and continues working at the BAU, even though he can easily resign doing so. For example, when one of his colleges, Emily Prentiss, was believed to be murdered, Reid began questioning whether he was capable of working for the FBI. He never quit even though after insisting that he would, not because he cared for the money or respect he gained from doing his job, but because he had developed a passion for solving crimes and being able to reunite loved ones with their families. Similarly, I am passionate about my education or learning, because I believe that it can take you as far as you want to go. Although, it wasn’t until the sixth-grade that I stopped taking the education I received for granted, and began understanding its impact on our lives. From that point on, I made a commitment to go above and beyond in every class, so that I could be able to later attend a college or university I would like to attend and be able to be successful in life. I did learn that throughout my journey I would always encounter obstacles that would prevent me from reaching my goals, but like Reid I would persevere, because I have a
