Personal Narrative: Acapulco Restaurant

My mother has owned a restaurant in Rupert, Idaho for eight years now. It is called Acapulco Restaurant. It was an authentic mexican restaurant. The dish that made the little restaurant so famous in the community were the burritos we sold. We did not have any small sizes available and the mediums were huge. There were so many ingredients required in the burrito it was difficult to make it compact into a ‘small’ size. I would say on average they were nine inches long and five inches wide. The business was going good, but after so many years working it, my mom along with the rest of my family started to get tired of working there. The look and feel of the restaurant is vastly different. When my mom was the cook, the windows had blinds; most were in good condition but there was one that looked dirty no matter how many times we cleaned it and another one that you had to manually switch the sides the blinds would turn. Now Janett has some see through light blue curtains on almost all the windows. The curtains give the place a nice elegant look and feel. Another thing different with the appearance of the place is that Janett has added a lot of pictures of the food. The are pictures as big as a sheet of paper hanging up on the wall surrounding the menue. There was also a painting hanging up of a traditional mexican building. With my mother's operation the painting hung in an awkward spot, but no one ever thought of moving it. Janett moved the painting to an area of the wall that was bigger and fit like it was meant to be there. Also, my father finally got around to fixing up the place. He always fixes our stuff last and everyone else's first, that's why the remodeling never got done. He fixed the trimming around the restaurant and repainted to place. However, with either person operating the layout and colors of the building were still the same. With Janet's decorations the place looks elegant, but the walls look cluttered, and with my mother's decorations the place looked simple and
