The time I thought we couldn't win the game. It was a cold wet gloomy day in the soccer season. It had began to rain as everyone was walking to their position on the wet soggy field. The coaches picked 2 captains to go to the ref and pick whether we were going down field or up field. After a few short moments are captains came back and said we were going down field. Most of the team jumped in the air with joy. Going down hill was an advantage. The ref blew the whistle. As soon as both taps were in the other team kicked the ball all the way down filled. Somebody was marked up and kicked the ball into the other goal. Even though the goalie dived for the ball it rolled straight past her. We were already down 1 and and it was only the
Offensive Play It’s time for kickoff. The kicker tee’s up the ball and is waiting for the call from the referee so he can kick the ball. The tension is building up with the opposing team as they await the kick. The whistle blows and the referee gives him the clear to kick the ball.
The relay was the largest event in field day and everybody wanted a good team. I had six people on my team. 4 would run the relay, and 2 would be cut. Since I was the team captain, I had the luxury of making the cuts. The two people who I thought we should cut, Chris and Hemanth, started to cry and yell. Our coach came over and told us to have a race, the two losers would be cut. Unfortunately, the same two people, Chris and Hemanth, lost and Chris started to cry even more. Out of frustration I said, “Its
Wyong thought they took the lead back on the stroke of halftime, but Ikuvalu was ruled to have stepped into touch in the process of scoring the try.
Reggie Jackson appeared to interfere with what would have been an inning out at first base. However, the ball deflected off Jackson and a second run scored cutting the LA lead to one.
Two teams are on the court racing for the ball. The gym is suffocatingly hot and, the students are flailing their arms in the air. The game is a mix of basketball and soccer. Gym class has begun. Blue and yellow jerseys fly throughout the gym with tiny sixth graders inhabiting them. The Yellow team scores and a player picks up the ball forcefully, ready to score once more . The Blue team runs across the gym back and forth like birds stuck in a cage. As the Yellow team scores the heads of the discouraged Blue team hang in disappointment. . The Perspiration is scattered on the bodies of the lively children. The Yellow team begins running for the ball and now looks like a pack of wild animals hunting their prey. They run fiercely towards their victims, each one aiding the next to achieve one goal, to kill. Wisst the sound of the whistle halts the game. Water drips from the water fountain onto the floor . The thirsty children flee the gym. Halftime
Later in the point, after many turnovers, the opposing team made some solid connections up the field; eventually scoring a point. Desperation crept into the minds of the players on both teams as the score came closer and closer in their game to seven
was the last 30 minutes of the game and the balls was hit to the out filled every time but we get
One minute and 30 seconds into the game, Paonia fouled, so we lined up for the
It all began with a childish game of jumping out of a tree into a river, a test of guts and will. All fun and games until that summer day when the star athlete is ready to jump out while his best friend follows him up the tree to jump next. The branch is shaken slightly, and suddenly the schoolÕs top athlete is lying on the ground with a broken leg. This event seems so small and feeble, but it will soon not only tear a friendship apart, but the whole school, as well.
The Dragons were not having a good season. Their record so far that year was 2-9. The coach could not understand why they had not won more games. The boys had the skills to score more goals, but when it came to the games, they did not have good teamwork. The boys blamed one another for their losses and often got frustrated with the goalies that they let in too many goals. At the last second, the coach decided to put the team into a small tournament. He felt it was a chance to turn things around for the team.
When I hear the word “Football,” I think about the violence, the adrenaline when you watch all those players either getting tackled, or getting a touchdown for their team, but I never came to think about it affecting my future, making this huge decision over lettering my son or daughter play football. If I were to ever have any children, I believe that I would let them play, but knowing that being a mother means caring for your son or daughter's health, and knowing if they are safe is a priority, by allowing my son or daughter to play “America's Obsession,” not only am I preventing them from gaining any skills out of the sport, but I am damaging something that could have been his/her future, and just maybe not ever seeing them again.
The lions got the ball because they won the coin toss( that’s where an official flips a coin) and they decided that they want the ball which every other team in the NFL would do too in overtime, because if you score a touchdown you win the game. Blair Walsh kicked the ball to the lions they returned but didn’t get far they only returned it to the 13 yard line. The first good play the lions had was a 23 yard catch by Eric Ebron the detroit lions tight end,Then Golden Tate the Detroit Lions wide receiver had a 12 yard catch. On one of the plays Xavier Rhodes the Minnesota Vikings cornerback got called for pass interference, and all of these plays were on third down. Now the play that ended the game Golden Tate caught the ball right next to the sideline and shuke off Harrison Smith then ran into the endzone for a touchdown! The Vikings lose, DANG IT! The game was still really fun
June 19th 2016, the day things got difficult. It was an early morning and the sun was peaking out of the clouds like parents playing peek a’ boo with their baby. The birds were out chirping and looking for their early morning snack. A cool breeze was blowing my hair out of my face as if I were driving down the highway with my head out of the window. The loud cheering of our parents in the stands waiting for us to take on this challenge that we had been preparing weeks for. Stepping on the field with our cleats sinking in the turf and nothing but the look of determination on our faces; today was the day.
Noting that our school is located in West Texas, the weather is very hot during that day and would be hot for most of the cross country season. As a team, we ran the first two miles without any trouble; however, the last mile was quite challenging for us. Suddenly, one of my teammates collapsed to the ground. When my teammate fell, she scraped her knee and injured her wrist. Since our two coaches were not supervising us, we had to call for help. One of my teammates quickly ran to find the coaches who were standing outside of the athletic building waiting for us to finish. Another teammate ran to find a maintenance employee who was located by the softball and baseball locker rooms. Once helped arrived, we were instructed to leave the scene
