Party Ruined Many significant novels have unfortunately been challenged/ banned at a certain point in time. Most of these literary classics face this because some contain sexual references, religious intolerance, and inappropriate language. Some cases books are being pulled off shelves because people believe that they were “tangibles of instruction” or the reason being was as a precaution towards a possible public attack which took effect in Tucson for the Mexican American Studies. (source:8) Another case is the Mozert v. Hawkins County Board of Education; Christian sewed the board because they believed that the required textbooks hurt their beliefs. Besides, Mr. Gatsby and Miss daisy's love affair there was another relationship with Daisy husband Tom and Mrs. Wilson. Towards the end, Mrs.wilson dies from getting hit by Gatsby car but with daisy behind it. After finding of gatsby's and his wife's affair Tom tells Mr. Wilson, it was Mr. Gatsby. So which led to the death of Mr. Gatsby and Mr. Wilson from bullets Mr. Wilson fired. The book then shows Nick carraway's thoughts about the situation and how everyone continued with their lives. Such as the reference towards the Messiah belonging to the Christian faith Jesus. Not everyone knows scripture to understand, and not everyone believes in that religion. So many can take that as a reason why they don't want to allow their children to read the book because it is not their beliefs. Harold Bloom points out how Fitzgerald creates parallels along the two. Bloom explicitly states “ in the Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald creates parallels between Gatsby and Jesus... Upon the scriptural language which defines the doctrine of incarnation..celebrated in the epistle to Timothy.” (Source 1) Besides, the sexual references foul language takes part as well. There's repeated language concerns within the book such as “son of a bitch,” “damn,” and hell. (Source #4) Even though this book has many concerns, the purpose behind it is something that every student should be able to read. The overall objective is supposed to give the readers a reality check. The lesson at the end was to inform them that being rich will not make them happy. Also, to live a fulfilled life you need love and real friends. This lesson is better to learn at a young age so you will know how to prevent it rather than wait till it's already too
