As such, an inmate bad behavior will be acknowledged to know if this person is only putting on a front as being rehabilitated because they ‘want out’. While incarcerated inmates who engage in education training and other things of that nature will be allowed in their case file that will be going before the parole board. Before setting a date for the inmate to go before the parole board a detailed psychological evaluation will be done and any other tests should the need arise. There will also be a meeting with a parole officer and a plan must be drafted on the conditions of their release and this will only be finalized by the parole board members after the parole hearing. Your case file will include your place of residence, education and skills training and your plans once released; this is to assist in a smooth transition back into the main stream of society without reoffending. These conditions will be presented to the parole board by the parole officer assigned to the possible parolee and it will be the final decision of the board to accept the draft you would have presented or make alterations to it as they see necessary. There must be continuous monitoring of the parolee to assist in them not returning to a life of crime
Also, credible testimonies on behalf of the offender will be admitted, but only in writing. Should the parole board need further information regarding their testimony they will get in contact those persons and request their presence. Testimony from family members will not be allowed on the grounds that they may be bias therefore defeating the purpose. Also, with adequate screening of prisoners over the suggested period of time when making a decision of putting an inmate on parole it would mean that they have shown that they can be rehabilitated. Proper screening must also be done in the hiring of parole officers so that the parolee can get the best assistance required and also to alleviate rogue behavior from officers. The signed agreement by the parolee must be adhered to in order to assist in the rehabilitation of those individuals back into society and one of the key factors is continuous monitoring; this will play a substantial part in the success or failure of the agency (personnel directly or indirectly associated, outside agencies).
