As an educator, one should be careful of their actions and take ownership of their career. This is the premise of the Ownership Principle. I believe that all professionals need to be conscience of their decisions and actions that could negatively affect his or her career. Educators especially need to have morals because they work with children and things you think are little can make a big impression on a child. Teachers shape the children they have in their classroom, so if the children see their teacher doing dishonest and inappropriate things, they will think that these actions are acceptable. In this paper, I will argue that it is more likely that the qualia of colour could be explained by physicalism rather than by property dualism. Qualia are subjective experiences, such as our senses (pg. 3). Physicalism views every property as physical, and can be explained by science (pg. 29). Second, educators must follow a strong code of ethics. They must be professional at all times with students and colleagues, keep confidentiality, not have or show any prejudice or bias, maintain safe and positive learning environments, help students with problems, and hand out disciplines accordingly. Lastly, I found that when you’re a teacher, your education never stops. Teachers are always trying to improve their own education and professional growth, both for the benefit of their students and for the benefit of themselves.
